Tossing eggs during Halloween while living in the  Hood can be dangerous. An Atlanta teenager may have been fatally shot after a Halloween prank, according to police.  Police officals says that on Sunday night around 8 p.m., at the intersection of Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard. a  an egg hit someone’s car and the driver drove away. The driver returned to the scene with a gun. Maj. Keith Meadows of the Atlanta Police Department stated:

“It appears the victim in this case was standing at an intersection when the suspect approached him, produced a handgun, and discharged the weapon at least ten times, striking the victim.”

The shooter was described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a red M & M jacket. Police said the gunman was driving a gold, four-door Mercedes with a red temporary tag. No charges have been filed yet.

Four Loko, a high-alcohol caffeinated drink, was determined to be the culprit, not date-rape drugs, that sickened Central Washington University students at an off-campus party earlier this month.

Students at the party had blood-alcohol levels that ranged from 0.12 percent to 0.35 percent after consuming cans of the drink called Four Loko, CWU President James L. Gaudino said at a news conference Monday. Other students mixed the drink with additional alcohol, he said.

Nine students were hospitalized after the Oct. 8 party at a house in Roslyn, where about 50 people had been drinking.

Four Loko is made by Phusion Projects Inc., of Chicago. It comes in several varieties, including fruit punch and blue raspberry. A message left with the company was not immediately returned.

Washington state Attorney General Rob McKenna said his office would lead an effort to ban such caffeinated malt liquors this year after a recent proposal died in the state Legislature.

Wow! Malt liquor drinks have been in the ghettos of the U.S. for decades. Now that some college students are hospitalized for OD-ing on the cheap liquor politicians are trying to make laws to ban it.

A man in a wheelchair was severely burned after he accidentally started a grass fire on Tuesday.  According to the police report:

“The patient stated he was wheelchair-bound and was smoking a cigarette, which he thought he had extinguished and discarded into the brush, which rapidly ignited and caught his wheelchair on fire,”

Police and firefighters rushed to the scene in search of the man only to find a vacant lot with grass, brush and palm trees blazing, but no man insight.  Firefighters extinguished the blaze while officers searched for the man in a wheelchair. The severely burned man was located around the corner north of the fire. An ambulance took the him to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach in critical condition. The victim was transferred a few hours later to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Moral of the story don’t toss your cigarette bud into the grass while sitting in your wheelchair.

ROSEVILLE, California’s Westfield Galleria for some odd reason decided that barring people from talking to strangers while in the mall, would provide a more pleasant shopping experience.

The mall prohibited people in its common areas from approaching and talking to people they didn’t know unless the conversation was about business involving the mall or its tenants.  Westfield reasoning was to protect tenants and customers by ensuring a safe and secure environment, preventing unruly gatherings and congestion and promoting convenience.  If a patron wanted to talk to a stranger about anything non mall business related they would have to submit a request five days in advance for mall officials to review.

Lets put this policy to the test:

A patron would have to submit a request five days in advance in order to spontaneously talk about Lebron going to the Miami Heat,  ask for directions to the Macy’s store, ask or talk about the weather,  or ask a hot person out on a date.  This mall seems to have a lame and unpleasant environment.  Who would want to go there.

Fortunately, a California judge struck the policy down as unconstitutional.

An autopsy is scheduled for Today, after the suicide death of Philip Markoff, the former medical student who was facing murder and armed robbery charges tied to the Craigslist website.

Markoff was found alone and unresponsive in his Boston  jail cell Sunday morning.  Its being reported that he carved himself up pretty good with a razor blade used for shaving.  The “Craiglist Killer” apparently slashed both wrist and severed the femoral artery in his leg then tied trashbags around his leg and head.

The cause of death is under investigation, Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement.

“Markoff was alone in his cell and all evidence collected thus far indicates that he took his own life,” the statement said. “Nonetheless, as with all such cases, a comprehensive investigation will be conducted to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding his death.”

However; controversy about the death of the “Craiglist Killer” is emerging.  Particularly in question, is how typical is the use of a trash bag tied over the head in suicide attempts.  Second What really was the act that caused death?  Was it the plastic bag, the slashed wrist, or the severed artery?  There are reports out there about Markoff receiving threats from other inmates for beating them at chess and taking their canteens.  Did this ultimately drive him to kill himself or was his death at the hands of someone else.  Police officials are confident Markoff killed himself but expect the autopsy to provide more conclusive answers to these questions.

Markoff, 24, was charged in the April 14, 2009, fatal shooting and attempted robbery of Julissa Brisman, 25, at Boston’s Copley Marriott Hotel.  Brisman advertised her “sexual release” masseuse services on Craigslist and  police believe that is how Markoff may have met her.

The family of Brisman  released a statement describing their shock and dissappointment about Markoff’s death.  They were looking forward to confronting him in court.
