The 68-year-old, Stuart, Florida man came on Martin County Sheriff’s deputies’ radar after they received a complaint of a man on a three-wheel motorcycle traveling recklessly southbound on Southeast Federal Highway. According to the arrest affidavit, the complaint mentioned that the driver sported underwear, a gray shirt and was barefoot.
A sergeant spotted a vehicle that fit the description along with its half naked driver driving in excess of 85 mph and drifting across lane markers. He pulled over the driver, identified as George Corno, but had no license on him and reeked of alcohol.
During a brief interrogation, Corno explained to the sergeant that he’d taken prescribed Lorazepam the night before, had a two drinks a couple hours before, argued with his girlfriend and was “‘bombed out of his mind.’” As for why he was riding around in his undies the old timer said he hadn’t taken notice he was pants-less nor barefoot.
The affidavit didn’t specify whether he wore boxers, briefs, a low rise bikini or a thong. It also wasn’t clear whether the underwear belonged to him, his girlfriend or someone else. It did mention he was charged with DUI after failing field sobriety exercises and his blood alcohol level measured at 0.141 and 0.138 — both greater than the 0.08 legal limit.
No word on whether Corno was given jailed issued clothing or if he spent the night in jail in his scantily clad state
