Criminal Charges For Farting?

Yes this really hapened. A man in West Virginia, arrested so that he could have a  breathalyzer test, was brought up on charges after he allegedly passed a big one and waved it towards an officer.   Jose Cruz did not deny farting but claims he did not wave the air towards a police officer.  He states that he could not hold it in any more after repeatedly being denied a bathroom trip.

What is really crazy about this story is the fact that the charge was battery.  Now if farting gets you a battery charge there is definitely a Hotmess staffer who is potently armed and dangerous.  By the way, don’t worry too much about your criminal flatulence landing you in jail; the charges were later dropped.
